Jammal Day is a versatile and experienced audio engineer and an award-winning video producer/editor with over 15 years in the production industry. His career began as a vocal producer for artists and songwriters signed to WaterMusic Publishing and then moved into full-time engineering as he partnered with multi-Grammy winner Comissioner Gordon, working on major records domestically and internationally. His dual abilities as an engineer and singer/songwriter have afforded him a rich variety of experiences with a diverse network of musicians, studios, and other engineers.
Music has been and will be at the core of Jammal's existence. A French horn player since 7th grade, he went on to become Drum Major of his high school marching band. At Howard University, he majored in Music Education and arranged numerous charts for the world famous “Showtime” Marching Band.
In recent years, he has expanded his skillset to include video production, audiovisual programming, AV systems management, as well as corporate AV/VC support - providing high-touch support for executives and the coordination and execution of hybrid and virtual events.
Projects Jammal worked on have garnered millions of streams on all platforms and he’s had the pleasure of working with such talents as Elle Varner, Guy Davis, Estelle, Fabolous, Joe Budden, Jordan Bratton, and Bilal, to name a few. He has also provided live sound support for many kinds of performers including the Isley Brothers, Smokey Robinson, Tony Danza, Keb' Mo', Regina Bell, Joan Baez, Eric Roberson, Sinbad, Lisa Lampanelli, Graham Hancock, Marianne Williamson, Peabo Bryson and Raul Midon.
Over the course of his live career, Jammal has provided audio support for many notable venues such as Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Bryant Park, SOPAC, the Saratoga Jazz Festival, Brooklyn Museum, UCPAC, several schools, churches, upscale event spaces such as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Dream Hotel, the Standard High Line, The Langham, Middle Collegiate Church, and more.
